The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency won the Prime Minister's Award at the 2025 Proactive Administration Best Practices Competition.

The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA, CEO Kim Hyun-woo) won the Prime Minister's Award, the highest award, at the "2025 Proactive Administration Best Practices Competition," co-hosted by the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the Ministry of Personnel Management. SBA ranked second among 88 public institutions nationwide.

The "2025 Proactive Administration Best Practices Competition" is held annually to discover and promote proactive administration practices implemented by the central government, local governments, and public institutions. This year, 649 cases were submitted from 343 organizations, and 18 cases passed the preliminary round and advanced to the finals. The SBA won the grand prize in the local public institution category for its case study, "Preventing Flood Damage through CSR Partnerships with Startups."

This case involved sponsoring a Type A drainage device from a startup with relevant technology to Songpa-gu Office to address urban flooding in a frequently flooded area of Seoul. SBA played an active role, directly participating in the removal of debris from the installation site and the installation of the new drainage device. As a result, the installation area experienced no flooding during this summer's monsoon season, earning high praise for its contribution to ensuring public safety.

SBA's case not only garnered recognition for its social value by proposing a fundamental and proactive solution to the flooding problem, but also gained significance as a CSV (Creating Shared Value) model, where a company creates economic benefits by addressing social issues. By demonstrating the effectiveness of its products, the sponsoring company secured opportunities to develop business-to-business (B2G) sales channels, while SBA implemented an ESG-based social responsibility model that simultaneously realizes both social and economic value.

The Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA) explained that this award was the result of its efforts to support Seoul's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, while simultaneously developing market opportunities and fulfilling its social responsibility. The SBA plans to continue to discover tangible social value for citizens, support sustainable corporate growth, and strengthen Seoul's policies to support the underprivileged and strengthen ESG management.

Kim Hyun-woo, CEO of the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, said, “This award is an exemplary social contribution project that has created both social and economic value,” and added, “As a public institution representing Seoul, we will continue to discover excellent cases of proactive administration and enhance our ESG competitiveness.”
