Willog, an AIoT-based supply chain intelligence solution company, announced on the 15th that it had received the Minister of Food and Drug Safety Award in recognition of its contributions to imported food safety management.
This award recognizes the company's efforts to establish a data-based system for managing and verifying quality and safety risks that may arise throughout the entire process of imported food, from overseas shipment to customs clearance and domestic transportation. This award demonstrates that, amidst the increasing complexity of global supply chains, food safety management standards are shifting beyond simple temperature maintenance to data-driven verification of the reliability of the entire management process.
Willog has applied its operational experience and data management methods accumulated in the strict temperature control requirements of the biopharmaceutical cold chain environment to food distribution management, enhancing the safety and reliability of cross-border food distribution. This achievement is considered to have significant industrial significance, elevating the standards for imported food safety management to the next level.
In recent years, the food and distribution industries have seen a growing demand for data-driven management methods that systematically record management history to reduce regulatory compliance costs and the risk of quality disputes. Especially for imported food products, where direct management of overseas routes is limited, the importance of a system that can continuously monitor the management status of the entire transport route through post-transportation verification is growing.
Accordingly, Willog has developed an IoT-based system that continuously collects and manages temperature, humidity, and shock data generated during transportation. It features a sensor device that combines QR-based verification with BLE and LTE communications, enabling seamless management from data generation through storage and utilization.
Willog emphasizes data integrity as a core concept of this system. This means not only the accuracy of measurements, but also the reliability of the entire data generation and management process, even through post-verification. This also aligns with global food and pharmaceutical safety management regulations.
Currently, Willog's solutions are being implemented by major domestic corporations, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and global logistics companies, demonstrating their effectiveness. They are being used as a supply chain safety management standard in diverse areas, from biopharmaceutical cold chains to imported food ingredients and K-food for export.
Willog CEO Bae Sung-hoon said that this award demonstrates that food safety management is moving beyond compliance with standards to a management system verified by data, and that the company plans to continue to focus on advancing technology to establish a transparent and explainable food safety management structure.
