JDC officially joins K-RE100, committing to 100% renewable energy by 2035.

Jeju Free International City Development Center (Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu, hereinafter referred to as JDC) announced on the 17th that it has officially participated in the Korean RE100 (K-RE100) to strengthen sustainable management and renewable energy transition.

Through its participation in K-RE100, JDC aims to transition all of its directly operated business sites to 100% renewable energy by 2035. To achieve this, JDC plans to pursue various renewable energy procurement methods, including the introduction of a green premium, the promotion of third-party Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), the expansion of self-generation at each business site, and the purchase of RECs.

Acting Chairman Kwak Jin-gyu said, “Participating in K-RE100 is an important responsibility that JDC must take the lead in as a national public institution operating based in the Jeju region.” He added, “We will contribute to achieving Jeju’s carbon neutrality by 2035 and the national greenhouse gas reduction target (NDC) through the transition to renewable energy, and we will work harder to create a sustainable city and environment.”

JDC plans to continue to implement various greenhouse gas reduction efforts through ESG management practices.
