Carat Secures Seed Investment… "Participation from Future Science and Technology Holdings and Venture Square"

Caretiv Co., Ltd. (CEO Ki-Hwan Kim), the developer of AI coding partner 'Caret', announced on the 18th that it has attracted seed investment from Mirae Science and Technology Holdings, a technology holding company of the four major science and technology specialized universities, and Venture Square, a startup accelerator.

Through this investment, Carativ aims to lower the barrier to entry for AI coding by providing free credits and local LLM (Large-Scale Language Model) integration to individual developers, while also providing security and customized solutions to corporate clients, thereby expanding the domestic AI development ecosystem.

'Carat' is a Korean-made, open-source AI coding tool developed to address the high costs of global AI coding tools and the risk of internal source code leaks. Individual developers can experience the latest AI models with free credits provided monthly, and its integration with Openrama allows for secure local LLM use. Furthermore, it is compatible with the open-source 'Cline', allowing for the maintenance of existing development environments.

CEO Kim Ki-hwan said, “Any developer should be able to enjoy the benefits of AI coding without worrying about cost or security,” and added, “Through this investment, we will provide a stable, free user experience and create an ecosystem that grows together with the community.”

'Enterprise AI Partner', a corporate solution, provides customized functions that meet corporate security and governance needs, such as ▲ AI coding tools customized to the corporate brand (white labeling), ▲ AI agent construction linked to in-house Git, documents, and wikis, and ▲ support for private/local environments.

CEO Kim emphasized, "AI is a key tool directly linked to corporate productivity, and Carat will serve as the optimal AI partner while safely protecting corporate assets."
