The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education signed a business agreement with the Seoul International Women's Film Festival.

The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education (President Kim Sam-hwa) under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 19th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul International Women's Film Festival (Chairman Byun Jae-ran) to promote gender equality culture and violence prevention awareness.

This agreement was established to promote joint collaboration between the two organizations in the production of short films for gender equality education, the spread of awareness of gender equality and violence prevention through screening and utilization of these films, cooperation in gender equality and violence prevention education, and other mutual support and cooperation.

After the signing of the agreement, a cooperative system for the spread of gender equality culture using film content will be fully operational, based on the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education's capacity to develop gender equality education content and the Seoul International Women's Film Festival's experience in spreading film culture.

The Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education has been continuously developing educational content on gender equality and violence prevention for the general public and supporting the production of short films. Since its launch in 1997, the Seoul International Women's Film Festival has operated various cultural projects to spread the value of gender equality as an international film festival.

The two organizations have jointly promoted the Film X Gender Short Film Production Support Project seven times since 2019, and have continued their cooperation to spread awareness of gender equality by supporting the production of a total of 14 works.

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to continuously strengthen cooperation to convey gender equality values and raise social awareness through the cultural content of film.
