Korea Credit Data (KCD) , which operates 'Cash Note', and SRT operator SR signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 22nd to expand support for fostering and coexisting with local small business owners.
This agreement aims to revitalize the local economy and tourism by combining SR's transportation infrastructure with KCD's data capabilities, and to enhance the self-reliance of local small businesses. The two organizations will collaborate on joint marketing initiatives targeting SRT users for local small businesses and traditional markets, linking transportation and commercial data, analyzing the contribution of SRT to local commercial sales and coordinating policies, and developing an AI- and blockchain-based payment system.
SR is a public institution that has contributed to balanced regional development by connecting the nation through SRT. Through this collaboration, SR plans to encourage passengers to visit local businesses by linking train ticket discounts and membership programs.
KCD will utilize Cashnote's small business data to analyze changes in commercial districts and sales contributions before and after the SRT launch, supporting the development of effective small business support policies. The company will also pursue future technological collaborations, including customized services leveraging AI technology, linking local currencies and point blockchains, and introducing crypto payments.
Kim Dong-ho, CEO of KCD, said, “This agreement is significant in that it combines movement and consumption data to provide new business opportunities for local small business owners. We will create a practical link to encourage SRT users to visit local stores.”
Shim Young-joo, acting CEO of SR, said, “Coexistence with local small business owners is the key to revitalizing the local economy,” and added, “We will expand support projects in cooperation with KCD so that SRT can function as a platform for revitalizing local commercial districts.”
