Digital healthcare innovation company Huinno (CEO Gil Young-jun) announced on the 23rd that CEO Gil Young-jun received the Pan-Ministry Medical Device Research and Development Division Director Award at the '2025 Pan-Ministry Medical Device R&D Awards' in recognition of his contribution to the development of a wearable electrocardiogram and AI-based remote monitoring platform.
This award was established to encourage outstanding research leaders who have achieved significant results through the inter-ministerial full-cycle medical device research and development project over the past six years, and to promote the advancement of medical device research and development, strengthen industrial competitiveness, and promote the feedback of results.
From April 2021 to December 2025, Huinno conducted a joint research project with the Korea University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, and Seoul Asan Medical Center to develop a remote monitoring platform capable of real-time biosignal monitoring both inside and outside the hospital. This platform reduced reliance on existing imported medical devices and established a system for continuous monitoring of cardiovascular disease patients even after discharge.
Huinno's wearable ECG remote monitoring solution utilizes AI-based ECG analysis technology to reduce the burden on medical professionals and enable patients to receive medical observation without having to visit a hospital. The company plans to expand the technology's reach to low-income and underserved populations.
During the research period, Huinno filed 14 patent applications, registered 11 patents, and secured 5 approvals, establishing a stable foundation for commercialization. The company is currently supplying its AI-based remote patient monitoring solution, "MEMO Cue," to domestic medical institutions in partnership with Yuhan Corporation. Recently, the company has also accelerated its entry into the global market by obtaining FDA 510(k) approval for its wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor, "MEMO Patch M."
Gil Young-jun, CEO of Huinno, said, “Patients with cardiovascular disease are prone to gaps in management after discharge from the hospital, but through this research, we have implemented a remote monitoring platform using domestic technology.” He added, “We will continue to contribute to solving clinical field problems and strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic medical device industry by advancing our out-of-hospital remote monitoring technology.”
