Cloto Selected as a Company to Undertake the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' OpenData X AI Challenge Project

Cloto Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Hyeon-seok), which operates a data-based management and administrative digital transformation (DX) service for small and medium-sized enterprises and startups, announced that it was selected as a company to carry out the task of building an AI service for predicting growth and risk of small and medium-sized enterprises at the OpenData X AI Challenge hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

The OpenData X AI Challenge is a demonstration program that aims to solve real-world problems for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners by opening public data to private AI startups. This year, a total of 124 companies applied, and after a competition rate of approximately 8.3 to 1, 15 companies, five per project, advanced to the finals.

In this challenge, Clotho will work on building a growth and risk prediction service for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It will receive KRW 10 million in proof-of-concept (PoC) funding, along with access to public datasets held by the issuing organization. Based on this funding, Clotho plans to develop and validate an AI model applicable to real-world business environments.

The company plans to enhance its AI model by combining data on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), management, execution, and research administration, accumulated through Hello Unicorn, a GovTech-based B2B/B2G SaaS, with policy and support performance data from public institutions. The service aims to proactively predict a company's growth potential and financial and administrative risks.

The AI service under development is designed to provide customized decision-making information for small and medium-sized enterprises by comprehensively analyzing government support project execution patterns, personnel expense execution risks, administrative risks based on project performance history, and operational stability at each growth stage, beyond sales and cost analysis.

Cloto has been providing DX services in the areas of research administration, execution, and post-management to companies carrying out various government-supported projects, and its field-oriented data and operational experience were evaluated as competitive factors in the selection process for this project.

After conducting a technology verification through this challenge, Clotho plans to release the final AI model in January 2026 after a user experience evaluation and face-to-face presentation review.
