
Rootfinders , the developer of 'EasyPlus', an AI-based multimedia content service for the visually impaired, announced on the 8th that it has completed its participation in the 7th Google Play 'Window Program'.
In this program's AI training course, "Changgu AI Study Jam," Rootfinders received the Outstanding Participation Award for having the largest number of participants complete the course. Furthermore, a developer from the company also won an Outstanding Participation Award in the individual category, achieving significant results.
The "Changgu Program" is a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development, and Google Play to support startup development. Selected companies are provided with commercialization support and AI training. Rootfinders has consistently participated in online and offline training programs, earning recognition for its organization-wide learning and implementation capabilities.
EasyPlus is a dedicated smart portal platform that reconfigures smartphone content, including news and games, to suit the needs of the visually impaired. By eliminating complex on-screen menus and ads and presenting only essential information, EasyPlus utilizes noiseless and image captioning technologies to enable visually impaired users to use their smartphones without assistance.
Through participation in this window program, Rootfinders systematically organized EasyPlus' AI pipeline and future functional enhancement strategy. CEO Kim Jong-guk stated, "The voluntary participation of teams and individuals has provided an opportunity to further develop EasyPlus' AI capabilities. We will continue to expand this technology to enhance media accessibility for the digitally disadvantaged."
