
Pluto , an AI data and solutions company, announced on the 2nd that its Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Kang Dong-han received a commendation from the Minister of Science and ICT at the 26th Software Industry Day ceremony. Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and co-hosted by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency and the Korea Artificial Intelligence and Software Industry Association, the event was attended by approximately 2,500 people this year.
CTO Kang Dong-han was recognized for his contributions to strengthening Korea's AI-based language competitiveness through the commercialization of AI-based real-time interpretation and translation technology and its export success. Pluto has spearheaded the global expansion of its proprietary AI interpretation solution, spearheading the expansion of domestic software into the global market.
Launched in 2012 as a crowdsourcing translation platform, Pluto has commercialized various translation products, including "Live Translation," a real-time AI interpretation solution based on voice recognition, voice synthesis, and natural language processing technologies.
Pluto's AI language technology is also expanding its application in the public sector. By providing AI translation solutions to major local governments like Seoul and Busan, Pluto has improved language accessibility for foreign tourists and residents. The AI translation engine and OCR-based "menu translation" introduced in Busan are now being utilized by over 2,000 restaurants.
CTO Kang Dong-han said that this award is the result of Pluto's continued demonstration of the global competitiveness of Korean language AI technology, and that Pluto will continue to contribute to strengthening the nation's digital capabilities and developing the global AI ecosystem through innovative AI language technology.
