Gyeonggi Innovation Center concludes 'Gyeonggi Startup Festa 2025'

The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Gyeonggi Innovation Center) announced on the 27th that it held the "Gyeonggi Startup Festa 2025." This event, an expanded version of last year's Pangyo Valley Festa, marked its second year. Members of the Gyeonggi startup ecosystem, including startup-related organizations, startups, large and medium-sized enterprises, and investors, participated, creating a forum for exchange and cooperation.

This year's event expanded beyond Pangyo to encompass the entire Gyeonggi region, taking place simultaneously at Pangyo 1 (Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation) and Pangyo 2 (Pangyo Startup Zone, a business support hub). Various programs included an open innovation achievement sharing session, a technology and industry trend seminar, and an AI company pitching competition.

The event began with the signing of the "Voluntary Carbon Market Alliance" agreement. As the lead organization for Gyeonggi Province's climate tech startup incubation project, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, along with the SDX Foundation and Eco-I, established a cooperative framework with the goal of revitalizing the Korean carbon market and building a high-quality carbon credit ecosystem. The Gyeonggi Innovation Center has been discovering and nurturing climate tech startups since 2023, and this agreement is expected to expand market participation among related startups.

The "2nd Pangyo Innovation Forum & Meetup Day," co-hosted by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center and Gyeonggi Housing & Urban Development Corporation, was then held. Leading companies, startup support organizations, and startups within 2nd Pangyo attended the forum to discuss strategies for expanding the startup ecosystem. Representatives from the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, Sogang University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, and Woowa Brothers shared their startup support practices. A panel discussion delved into the development of the 2nd Pangyo innovation ecosystem.

The Gyeonggi Innovation Center, in collaboration with Gyeonggi Province, also held a "Gyeonggi Province Private Sector-Led Open Innovation Achievement Sharing Session," showcasing excellent proof-of-concept (PoC) cases between local startups and companies. The center's matching and technology collaboration programs drew attention.

In the afternoon, a "Global VC Insight Seminar" was held to share global investment trends. Asia2G Capital co-founder and partner Jihoon Jeong gave a presentation on the future prospects of AI, machine intelligence, and quantum computing-based technologies. Following the event, a global funding challenge was held, with five global AI startups participating. Alcove Investment, which participated in the judging process, confirmed its investment in Konnect, the top-ranked company.

IR sessions were also held for excellent IP-based companies and data companies.

Meanwhile, on the same day, the Gyeonggi Regional SMEs and Startups Agency hosted the 'Gyeonggi Deep Tech Startup Flex 2025', where various programs such as conferences, seminars, purchasing consultations, and job fairs were held throughout Pangyo Techno Valley.

The Gyeonggi Innovation Center plans to use this event as a catalyst to expand the Gyeonggi Startup Festa into a leading startup festival in the Gyeonggi region. Going forward, the center plans to strengthen programs such as investor network-based IR, startup competitions, exhibitions of high-quality products, and consultations on regulatory challenges. Furthermore, it plans to expand collaboration with local innovation players and large corporations to develop the event into one that the general public can participate in.

An official from the Gyeonggi Innovation Center stated that they will actively drive the local startup ecosystem by strengthening their capabilities in childcare, investment, open innovation, and global support.
