
The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KTFC) (Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as KIBO) announced on the 25th that it signed a ‘Business Agreement for Technology Finance Support for Fostering Technology Startups in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province’ at the headquarters of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Economic Promotion Agency (Director Seo Dong-myeon, hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Agency) located in Wonju-si, Gangwon Province.
This agreement was created to establish a cooperative system to jointly discover and systematically foster excellent technology startups in the Gangwon region by utilizing the corporate support capabilities of both organizations.
Founded in 2000, the Promotion Agency is a small and medium-sized enterprise support organization under Gangwon Province. It provides customized services for each stage of growth, including financial support, technology development, and market development, and supports the management stability and innovative growth of local small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners.
Under the agreement, the Promotion Agency will recommend promising technology-based startups in the region to KIBO, and KIBO will provide various customized programs, including technology evaluation and preferential guarantees, investment linkages, technology transfer and protection, and management consulting, to the recommended companies.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to strengthen the growth foundation of technology startups in the Gangwon region, contribute to the creation of a technology-centered startup ecosystem, and revitalize the local economy.
Seodong-myeon Promotion Center Director said, “This agreement will further strengthen the support system for excellent technology startups in the province, laying the foundation for the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Gangwon region.”
Kim Seong-tae, head of the Seoul Eastern Regional Headquarters of Kibo, said, “Through this agreement, a foundation has been established for the innovative growth of local startups,” and added, “Kibo will continue to expand cooperation with related organizations to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy and job creation.”
