Kibo and Pukyong National University Sign MOU to Foster Future Industry Leaders

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as KIBO) announced on Thursday, November 6 that it signed a ‘MOU for the discovery and fostering of leading companies in future industries’ at the Yongdang Campus of Pukyong National University.

This agreement was established to establish a cooperative system between the two organizations to jointly discover promising technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises in the Busan region and systematically support technology commercialization and scale-up.

According to the agreement, Pukyung National University's RISE (Regional Innovation-Oriented University Support System) business unit will recommend small and medium-sized enterprises with high technological innovation and growth potential to Kibo, and Kibo will provide the companies with integrated financial and non-financial support programs such as ▲customized guarantees for each stage of growth ▲priority review for direct investment ▲technology evaluation and technology transfer/protection ▲technology management consulting.

The support target is ▲Blue UIC (fisheries and marine sector) and ▲Green UIC (energy technology sector) participating companies among the companies affiliated with Pukyung National University's industry-academic cooperation platform 'OPEN UIC (University-Industry Collaboration)', as well as companies invested by Pukyung National University's technology holding company.

Through this agreement, Kibo and Pukyung National University expect to strengthen the commercialization capabilities of technological innovation startups linked to local industries and accelerate the creation of an innovation ecosystem in the Busan region.
