Sky Labs (CEO Lee Byeong-hwan) announced on the 29th that it signed a cooperation agreement with Kakao Healthcare (CEO Hwang Hee) for the supply of the ring-type blood pressure monitor 'CART BP' and data linkage-based blood pressure management service.
This contract is a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on mobile-based chronic disease management cooperation signed by the two companies in 2022, and aims to advance digital healthcare services by combining Kakao Healthcare's AI and big data technologies with Sky Labs' biosignal measurement technology.
Through this collaboration, "Cart BP" will be integrated with Kakao Healthcare's health management app, "Pasta." Users can comprehensively manage various health indicators, including blood sugar, weight, and blood pressure, within the app. The 24-hour continuous blood pressure data collected by "Cart BP" will be combined with "Pasta's" AI analysis capabilities to provide personalized health management.
The "Cart BP" is a ring-shaped wearable medical device. Unlike conventional blood pressure monitors, it can measure blood pressure continuously 24 hours a day, even during daily life and sleep, simply by wearing the ring. Hourly changes in measured data can be viewed on a smartphone app, and the "Blood Pressure Calendar" feature is designed to facilitate personal management.
Sky Labs, a digital healthcare company founded in 2015, develops chronic disease management solutions based on ring-type biosignal measurement technology. Kakao Healthcare, a health tech company founded in 2022, operates "Pasta," a personalized healthcare platform leveraging AI, big data, and cloud technologies.
Skylabs CEO Lee Byeong-hwan said, “Through this agreement, we can now utilize the technology and clinical effectiveness of ‘Cart BP’ in the general consumer market,” and “Users will be able to check and manage their blood pressure variability in their daily lives outside of the hospital.”
Kakao Healthcare CEO Hwang Hee said, “‘Cart BP’ is a medical device that changes the paradigm of existing blood pressure monitors,” and “The ability to obtain blood pressure data at night and during sleep will contribute to increasing the accuracy of the ‘Pasta’ AI analysis engine.”
