Cryos, a subsidiary of Daechang Solutions and a specialist in ultra-low temperature special gas tanks, announced on the 29th that CEO Daesung Kim received the Presidential Citation at the 32nd Korea Gas Safety Awards held at the Korea Science and Technology Center.
This award recognizes CEO Kim's contributions to the development of the domestic hydrogen industry and ensuring public safety by leading the development of core technologies and improving safety systems in the field of liquefied hydrogen transportation and storage.
CEO Kim oversaw the development of liquefied hydrogen transport and storage tanks, successfully developing and demonstrating Korea's first 2-ton and 3-ton liquefied hydrogen trailers. He also contributed to the advancement of gas facility safety standards through the development of vacuum insulation and cryogenic technologies, and enhanced industry credibility by securing KGS design review approval and passing various safety inspections.
In terms of research achievements, the company holds numerous intellectual property rights, including 13 registered patents and 9 pending patents, and has led the domestic production of liquefied hydrogen storage and transportation equipment through key patented technologies such as the "Emergency Liquefied Gas Supply System" and the "Dual Tank for Ultra-Low Temperature Media."
He has also actively participated in policy and institutional improvement efforts. As a member of the Transportation and Storage Subcommittee of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Comprehensive Plan for Hydrogen Lifecycle Safety Management," CEO Kim spearheaded the development of the safety management system. As the overall manager of numerous national projects, he spearheaded the development of new and renewable energy and offshore wind power components. Through these efforts, he contributed to the development of new industry markets, revitalized local economies, and created quality jobs, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of national energy policies.
The Korea Gas Safety Awards, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Gas Safety Corporation, is the most prestigious event in Korea that rewards those who have contributed to the development of the gas industry. This year marks the 32nd anniversary.
Meanwhile, Cryos specializes in the development and manufacture of cryogenic special gas storage tanks and specialized containers for transportation, including liquefied hydrogen. Leveraging world-class vacuum insulation and cryogenic technologies, Cryos supplies key equipment for the energy industry, including storage tanks for liquefied hydrogen charging stations, cryogenic transport trailers, and nuclear power and offshore wind power. Cryos is leading the domestic production of key next-generation hydrogen economy equipment and its entry into the global market.
CEO Kim Dae-seong said, “This award is the result of an evaluation of our achievements in various fields beyond technological development, such as system improvement, talent development, and strengthening of safety standards,” and added, “We will continue to contribute further to the national energy industry and gas safety by leveraging Crios’ technological prowess and management capabilities.”
