GP Co., Ltd., a medical artificial intelligence (AI) specialist, announced on the 25th that its 'AI-based growth analysis software' technology has received certification as a New Excellent Technology (NET) designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
The technology is applied to GP's AI growth prediction solution, 'GP Solution KmapDR', which is a software that analyzes and visualizes growth-related biometric data such as bone age based on height, weight, and body composition measurements using AI.
The Health New Technology Certification is a system that evaluates and designates the excellence and commercialization potential of newly developed technologies in the domestic healthcare field. Certified technologies can receive various support measures, such as preferential treatment in future collaborations with public institutions and medical institutions, additional points in government projects, and health insurance benefit evaluations.
GP has been developing advanced growth prediction AI models based on data from over 140,000 global children and adolescents over 13 years. It currently holds 59 growth-related AI patents and five SCI-level papers. This new health technology certification is recognized as a national validation of the objective excellence of this technology.
Based on this certification, GP plans to expand the distribution of related medical devices to major domestic general hospitals starting in the fourth quarter of 2024. Furthermore, GP has obtained digital medical device manufacturing certification from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and completed manufacturing registration with EUDAMED (European Medical Device Database) as a Class 1 medical device under the European CE MDR.
Meanwhile, GP has signed a technology support agreement with the Korea Childcare Promotion Institute under the Ministry of Education and the Korea Association of Daycare Centers for the 'AI Cohort Biological Big Data-Based Growth and Disease Prediction System', and is currently conducting a pilot project in approximately 170 daycare centers in 17 metropolitan and provincial governments across the country.
GP CEO Seong-Hyeok Kim stated, “Through this new health technology certification, our growth analysis software has been recognized for its public nature and technological prowess.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen the scientific foundation of growth management by expanding its adoption in domestic medical settings.”
