The Ministry of SMEs and Startups held the "Chungcheong Welcome to Tips" event.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Han Sung-sook, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it held the 'Chungcheong Welcome to Tips' event at Tips Town in Daejeon on Tuesday the 16th.

TIPS is a public-private cooperative startup support system in which the government provides support through research and development (R&D) and startup commercialization funds, while private operators utilize their expertise and capabilities to select and invest in startups.

To date, over 3,700 startups have participated, attracting follow-up investments worth over 17 trillion won, establishing it as Korea's leading startup support program.

This event is a place where approximately 100 promising technology startups in the Chungcheong region who wish to participate in TIPS and TIPS operators can interact directly, and was designed to expand investment opportunities concentrated in the metropolitan area to the region.

On this day, promising startups in the Chungcheong region held investment briefings for TIPS operators, and prize money was awarded to outstanding companies selected through on-site evaluations. The outstanding companies selected today will advance to the final round at the end of the year to present another investment briefing to investors from across the country.

In addition, various exchange programs were held, including an operator briefing session where TIPS operators introduced their main investment areas and strategies, a networking event for attracting investment between operators and companies hoping to participate in TIPS, and mentoring by senior TIPS companies.

Lim Jeong-wook, Director of the Startup and Venture Innovation Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “I hope that today’s meeting with the TIPS operator will serve as a stepping stone for growth and a bigger leap forward for startups in the Chungcheong region,” and added, “We will sequentially hold Welcome to TIPS in each region to spread the entrepreneurial spirit in the region.”
