The Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center (CEO Daehee Park, hereinafter referred to as the Daejeon Innovation Center) announced on September 15 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at its Daejeon Startup Park headquarters to build a global startup ecosystem.
This agreement aims to promote the status of Daejeon-area startups internationally and strengthen the foundation for entering the global market through collaboration with StartupBlink, a global startup analysis platform.
Startup Blink is a platform that analyzes the startup ecosystems of major cities around the world and publishes the "Global Startup Ecosystem Index" annually. This index comprehensively evaluates each city's startup infrastructure, market maturity, and talent acquisition capabilities, ranking them and serving as a benchmark for comparing startup ecosystems worldwide.
According to the 2025 Startup Blink rankings, Korea maintained its 20th place globally for the third consecutive year and ranked 5th in Asia. Daejeon ranked 366th, rising 63 places from the previous year or approximately 58%. This is attributed to Daejeon's strong technology startup infrastructure and the success of public-private partnerships.
Through this MOU, the two organizations plan to systematically share startup-related data in Daejeon and expand collaboration and connections within the global startup network. Through this, the Daejeon Innovation Center aims to foster the global market access of local startups and foster a sustainable startup ecosystem.
“Daejeon’s startup ecosystem is impressive, and we hope this collaboration will further strengthen Korea’s innovation capabilities and contribute to expanding its global influence,” said Eli David Rokah, CEO of Startup Blink.
Daehee Park, CEO of the Daejeon Innovation Center, said, “Based on our collaboration with Startup Blink, we plan to grow Daejeon into a global startup city and actively support promising local startups to leap forward as global unicorn companies.”
