Mobility concierge platform company Chabot Mobility (CEO Kang Sung-geun) announced on the 15th that it has signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Mongolia's major telecommunications company Gmobile LLC and energy and distribution company Magnai Trade LLC.
Through this agreement, Chabot Mobility plans to gradually introduce integrated mobility services, including car sharing, vehicle management, smart fueling and payment, and electric vehicle charging, by combining its local Mongolian communications network and gas station network with its digital auto-commerce platform.
Chabot Mobility's recent agreement stems from the rapid growth of the Mongolian automobile market. Registered vehicles are expected to exceed 900,000 by 2024, leading to increased urban traffic congestion and demand for vehicle maintenance and management. Furthermore, Ulaanbaatar City announced plans to build over 25 charging stations by 2030, and with government-level policy support, electric vehicle adoption is rapidly expanding. Chabot Mobility has aligned with these market trends and entered into strategic partnerships with key local companies.
Through its collaboration with Jimomobile, Chabot plans to implement a one-stop car sharing and rental service, enabling vehicle location tracking, reservations, and payments via local networks. It also plans to monitor vehicle status in real time through telematics services leveraging driving data. Furthermore, the company aims to provide Mongolian users with a next-generation mobility experience by supporting electric vehicle charging station search, reservations, and payments.
This agreement will transform Maknae Trade's gas station hubs into "mobility stations" that support smart fueling, app-based payments, and vehicle maintenance, car wash, and minor repair reservations. Chabot envisions this as a comprehensive management service for both internal combustion engine and electric vehicle customers, expanding gas stations beyond mere fuel supply centers into digitally integrated mobility hubs.
In particular, Jimomobile and Maknae Trade are sibling companies operated by the same family. Combining their telecommunications infrastructure and offline gas station network, their collaboration with the "Chabot" service is expected to significantly enhance synergy. The close relationship between the two companies will serve as a foundation for organically connecting data and service touchpoints, providing local users with a more efficient and integrated mobility experience.
Meanwhile, this agreement is a follow-up to Chabot Mobility's participation in the Korea Transportation Safety Authority's "TS Mongolia Voyager Project," which began on the 6th, and which confirmed the potential of its entry into the local market. Having validated the potential of the Mongolian market through local buyer meetings and technology roadshows, Chabot has now joined forces with key partners, Jimobile and Maknai Trade, to begin full-scale business expansion.
Kang Sung-geun, CEO of Chabot Mobility, said, “Mongolia is a market where vehicle supply expansion, conversion to electric vehicles, and expansion of digital payments are all occurring simultaneously, making it the optimal environment for creating synergy with Chabot’s service model.” He added, “Through this collaboration with leading local companies, we will verify an expansion model that combines local infrastructure and a digital platform, and based on this, we will demonstrate Chabot’s differentiated competitiveness in global markets such as Japan and North America.”
