Kibo visits Busan's Yeongdo Namhang Market to hold on-site meetings and a Jangbon Day event.

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Chairman Kim Jong-ho, hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced on Monday the 8th that it will visit Namhang Market in Yeongdo-gu, Busan to conduct a traditional market consumption promotion campaign and on-site meeting to revitalize the local economy and restore people’s livelihoods.

This event was organized to encourage consumption by having public institutions visit local traditional markets and participate in consumer activities, and to listen to diverse opinions from the field.

Before the on-site meeting, Kibo Chairman Kim Jong-ho and his staff plan to have lunch at a restaurant in Namhang Market to experience the market atmosphere firsthand and connect with local merchants. At the subsequent meeting, Kibo executives will discuss the current state of market operations and any challenges they face, and discuss practical ways to stimulate consumption.

Following the meeting, Kibo will launch "Jangbon Day," a traditional market shopping campaign. Kibo employees will use "People's Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons" to purchase goods directly and interact with merchants to revitalize Namhang Market. This campaign is particularly significant as it aims to revitalize the alleyways of Yeongdo-gu, a depopulated area.

Additionally, Kibo will donate 3 million won worth of daily necessities and food collected from the Kibo Love Fund at a traditional market to the Gamman Community Welfare Center in Nam-gu, Busan. Kibo has consistently supported the Gamman Community Welfare Center to promote community coexistence, including through free meal services. Through this donation, Kibo plans to provide practical assistance to vulnerable communities in the region and put the value of sharing into practice.

Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, said, “The role of traditional markets is even more important in regions that are struggling with population decline and aging,” and added, “As a local public institution, Kibo will continue to strengthen its community-based social contribution activities and support for the recovery of people’s livelihoods, thereby practicing coexistence with local communities.”
