Airbility Inc., a next-generation high-speed eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) development company, announced on the 2nd that it was selected as the final candidate in the face-to-face evaluation for the '2025 Small and Medium Venture Enterprise Middle East Expansion Support Project' hosted by the Saudi Arabian government and major investment institutions.
This project was carried out as part of a global acceleration program that selects domestic small and medium-sized venture companies with high growth potential in four new industries, including artificial intelligence (AI), bio, content, and smart cities, and supports their entry into the Middle Eastern market.
In its presentation, Airability presented a variety of potential applications centered around its high-speed AI eVTOL platform. Key applications include: disaster response and emergency logistics transport within smart cities (Drone as a First Responder), wide-area surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, anti-drone (C-UAS) systems, and integration with tourism and mobility services. These diverse application possibilities and technological suitability were reportedly highly evaluated.
In particular, it was emphasized that Airability's eVTOL platform can be utilized as a smart city solution to respond to large-scale events (e.g., Hajj pilgrimage) or urban transportation demand as a low-noise, carbon-free air mobility, and can also be applied to emergency relief, medical supplies, and military supplies transportation.
Airability COO Minyoung Ahn said, “The fact that we were selected as one of the 29 companies out of over 100 companies participating proves Airability’s technological prowess and feasibility in the Middle East market,” and added, “We plan to actively pursue localization cooperation and technology verification, including the Saudi smart city project, in the future.”
