
The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Won-kyung Kim, hereinafter referred to as the Gyeonggi Innovation Center) announced on the 29th that it held the '32nd Startup 815 IR Union' at the Pangyo Startup Zone on August 28th in cooperation with Kyunghee University Technology Holdings, Dongguk University, and the Korea Invention Promotion Association.
Startup 815 IR is a regular investment attraction program held every Thursday at the Pangyo Startup Zone in Sujeong-gu, Seongnam-si. Hosted by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center, it connects startups seeking investment with investors.
This 32nd IR event focused on the bio, health functional food, and platform sectors, and was jointly participated by Kyung Hee University Technology Holdings and the Korea Invention Promotion Association, with startups recommended by Dongguk University also included.
The companies that participated in the presentation were ▲Circular Bio, which developed an organic waste resource circulation system through insect breeding; ▲Topo Lab, a platform for mass production of plant raw materials for climate disaster response; ▲Bichedam, which developed a blood circulation improvement product using red ginseng blending technology; ▲Doctor B Lab, which researches natural lung cancer treatment based on oriental medicine; ▲Hints, which provides a business continuity platform for medical institutions, a total of five companies.
On the investor side, seven institutions including Stick Ventures, Intellectual Discovery, Kolon Investment, Coolidge Corner Investment, Platinum Technology Investment, GS Retail, and LX Ventures participated and conducted an in-depth evaluation of the companies' technological prowess and business viability.
In particular, starting with this IR, we are expanding the scope of co-hosting organizations in conjunction with the Gyeonggi Regional SMEs and Startups Agency's Deep Tech Tutoring Project, strengthening the diverse startup discovery network and contributing to the revitalization of the investment ecosystem.
An official from the Gyeonggi Innovation Center said, “This Startup 815 IR is significant in that it not only discovered promising companies in the bio, health functional food, and platform fields, but also expanded the scope of cooperation,” and added, “We will continue to cooperate with relevant organizations to expand investment opportunities for technology startups and strive to create a sustainable startup ecosystem.”
