Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CEO Lee Byeong-seon, hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center) announced that its investment company Soulx (CEO Hwang Young-taek) was selected for the TIPS R&D General Track, a technology startup support project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
Companies selected for TIPS will receive 500 million won in research and development funding over two years, and can receive an additional 300 million won in linked support for commercialization and overseas marketing.
SoulX Co., Ltd. received seed round investment in December of last year through the ‘Jeju Early Startup Incubation Fund’ jointly operated by Jeju Center and MY Social Company (CEO Kim Jeong-tae, hereinafter MYSC).
Through this selection for Tips R&D, SoulX plans to complete an XR agent solution that incorporates multimodal AI technology to enable even general creators to easily create XR (Extended Reality).
The first XR content production solution, 'X ROOM', was recognized for its innovation and technology by winning the '2024 Edison Award (Innovative Entertainment Design & Technologies category).'
SoulX CEO Young-taek Hwang said, “The convergence of AI and immersive technology is a key trend in the next-generation content industry,” and expressed his ambition by saying, “We will implement and provide differentiated solutions that will allow non-experts to easily and quickly create optimized content by overcoming the limitations of XR technology, which was previously the domain of experts.”
