CODIT , an AI-based law, regulation, and policy data platform company, announced on the 27th that it has acquired a patent for a 'system for providing analysis information on laws and policies using a large language model (LLM)'.
This patent concerns an algorithm that utilizes LLM technology to automatically classify and analyze large-scale bill and policy data, and then select and provide information relevant to the context of a user's query. Codit explained that this technology allows for the efficient summarization of complex policy documents and the provision of necessary information in natural language.
Existing law and policy searches are keyword-based or require an understanding of specialized terminology and structures, making them difficult for general users to access. Recently, augmented search generation (RAG) techniques have also been limited in policy documents with many similar sentences and repetitive structures. To address these issues, Codit has enhanced features such as similar expression identification, duplication removal, sentence refinement, and source and publication date verification.
Based on this patented technology, CODIT plans to launch the beta version of its interactive policy analysis service, "Chat CODIT," in September. Through Chat CODIT, users can search for bills or policies of interest through an interactive interface and instantly view comparisons and summarized results. CODIT plans to expand its business into a global governance technology platform by adding multilingual capabilities and expanding its country-specific regulatory data.
Founded in 2020, Codit holds 14 patents, including one US patent, and its technological prowess has been recognized, recently winning the AI Innovation Award at NextRise 2025. In September, Codit will participate in the international legal tech event TechLaw Fest in Singapore, where it will unveil key services, including ChatCodit.
Jeong Ji-eun, CEO of Codet, said, “This patent acquisition is a case that proves the practical applicability of LLM-based AI technology,” and added, “We will grow into a data platform that simultaneously supports domestic companies’ overseas expansion and global companies’ domestic entry through customized legal and policy analysis services.”
