Travel Wallet Signs Business Agreement with Cathay Pacific

Travel Wallet (CEO Hyungwoo Kim), a foreign currency payment fintech company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Cathay, the lifestyle brand of Cathay Pacific. This agreement, part of a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening the travel rewards ecosystem, was signed on August 22nd at Travel Wallet's headquarters in Seoul.

The signing ceremony was attended by Travel Wallet CEO Kim Hyung-woo, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) Lee Jae-won, and Chief Business Officer (CBO) Lee Kyu-seo, along with Cathay Pacific’s Korea Country Manager Donald Morris, Head of Financial and Payment Partnerships Jamie Pepper, and Northeast Asia Lifestyle Head Erin Chen.

Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to pursue various programs, including ▲introducing a conversion system between Travel Wallet points and Cathay Asia Miles, ▲joint marketing of airline tickets and travel packages, ▲operating bonus mileage and customer-targeting events, and ▲providing opportunities to participate in the 'Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival.'

Under this partnership, starting September 1st, Travel Wallet users will be able to convert their points to Asia Miles, Cathay Pacific's mileage program, within the app. These miles can then be used for various Cathay Pacific benefits, including airline ticket purchases and travel bookings. This service, the first of its kind in Korea, is expected to expand the range of rewards available to both domestic and international travelers.

Travel Wallet has previously expanded its point usage through partnerships with domestic rewards platforms such as CJ ONE and Lotte, and through this agreement, it has expanded its point usage overseas through collaboration with global airlines.

Kim Hyung-woo, CEO of Travel Wallet, said, “Travel Wallet customers can now directly convert the points they earn through payments into airline mileage and use them for actual travel,” and added, “We will continue to expand our customer-centered travel financial services through various global partnerships.”

“This partnership is designed to help customers use their miles more effectively in their daily lives and travel,” said Donald Morris, Country Manager of Cathay Pacific Korea. “We will continue to expand our customer experience through partnerships in the future.”
