Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center Signs MOU with Korea Volunteer Center Association

The Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center (Director Kim Sang-gil) announced on August 19 that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Volunteer Center Association (Chairman Jeong Yeon-wook) for the operation of the ‘Volunteer Management Qualification Course’ in the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center conference room.

This agreement was established to strengthen the professionalism and systematization of volunteer work sites and to cultivate qualified professionals who can work in local communities by cooperating in the operation of volunteer management qualification training based on the NCS (National Competency Standards) promoted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to cooperate on all aspects of the qualification process, including ▲promotion of the volunteer management qualification course, ▲operation and support of the training course, and ▲management of the qualification examination.

A 'volunteer manager' is a professional who performs various support tasks such as program operation, resource coordination, and administrative management at the site where volunteers are working, and is responsible for supporting the efficient activities of volunteers.

Kim Sang-gil, director of the Jeollanam-do Volunteer Center, said, “Through this agreement, we expect to be able to support the capacity building of volunteer managers and lay the foundation for them to make a practical contribution to solving community problems,” adding, “We will create a sustainable volunteer environment that grows together with the residents of the province.”
