Trashbusters, patent registration for ultra-high pressure reusable cup and lid cleaner

Trashbusters (CEO Jae-won Kwak) announced on the 22nd that it has completed domestic patent registration for the world's first ultra-high pressure reusable cup and reusable lid washing machine, TSWM (Trashbusters Sustainable Washing Machine), developed to solve the problem of disposable products.

Trashbusters is the first startup in Korea to provide a reusable tableware rental service to solve the problem of disposable waste. They provide reusable containers to corporate cafes/coffee shops, festivals/events, movie theaters, cafes, etc., and have a system that reduces waste and recycles resources by providing a service that re-rents them after collecting them and going through a professional cleaning process.

Since its founding in 2019, Trashbusters has provided reusable container services to over 130 companies and 250 festival events, resulting in the reduction of approximately 57 million pieces of disposable waste.

TSWM, for which patent registration has been completed, is an innovative invention that opens a new path for resource recycling business at a lower cost than disposable products, and is a device that fully automates the reusable cup washing process to simultaneously secure washing efficiency and quality.

The core functions of TSWM are ▲Ultra-high pressure and high temperature washing ▲Automatic size detection and sorting automation ▲Compatibility with various cup sizes ▲5-nozzle rotating spray system ▲Resource saving, replacing the existing manual cup washing method, it can wash up to 10,800 cups per hour.

It powerfully washes the inside and outside of the cup with a pressure of up to 100 bar and a high temperature of over 90°C, and automatically puts it into the washer after aligning it through a sensor that detects the size of the cup. The nozzle angle and pressure can be adjusted so that cups of various sizes from 10 oz to 22 oz can be perfectly washed. In addition, the nozzle that washes the inside and outside of the cup moves up and down to remove foreign substances from every corner, and the used water is circulated through the pump and reused to minimize water consumption.

Here, TSWM is an innovative solution that automates the washing of cups and lids used in franchise cafes, fast food restaurants, and other places, replacing human labor while reducing washing costs. In particular, it is expected to quickly build a foundation for expanding the use of reusable containers as a much more economical alternative than in-store dishwashing costs.

Through this technology, we expect to move beyond the development of simple cleaning devices and transform them into essential devices that can actually contribute to the activation of the circular economy and environmental protection. In addition, we plan to further accelerate the development of technologies related to the cleaning business in the future to provide solutions for a sustainable environment.

“We expect that the development of TSWM will be a significant turning point in reducing the use of disposable products and accelerating the transition to a circular economy,” said Kwak Jae-won, CEO of Trashbusters. “We will achieve a system transformation as a substitute for the 3D industry of cleaning in the service market where manpower is decreasing and labor costs are increasing.”

Meanwhile, Trashbusters plans to use the patent to not only present a new service model for the franchise store and cleaning market, but also implement sustainable technology for the future.
