Busan Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Busan Changgyeong announced that the 'Sea LAB In BUSAN Workation Activation Project', hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and organized by Busan Changgyeong, has been extended by three months to March 31, 2025 to recruit additional participants.
Busan Changgyeong is leading a new work culture by breaking down the boundaries between work and leisure through the Workation project. This project aims to establish Busan as a center of workation by providing the optimal environment for remote workers and companies visiting Busan.
The 'Sea LAB In BUSAN Workation Activation Project' is currently being operated in collaboration with two private operators (Flexday and Cheonggaeguri), and provides the 4th floor of Busan Changgyeong as an office space free of charge, and offers various benefits such as vouchers for accommodation, tourism, and restaurants in the Haeundae-gu area to employees of companies outside of Busan.
'Flex Day' provides participants with the best accommodation environment by linking with various hotels near Centum City, Haeundae, and Songjeong Station. It also provides tourism vouchers for tourism activities such as surfing, yachting, and spas, as well as restaurants, to support participants to enjoy a balance of leisure and work during the workation period.
'Cheonggaegi' provides a convenient accommodation environment by linking three hotels near Haeundae Station: Toyoko Inn Haeundae 2, Ramada Encore Haeundae, and Paradise Busan. Participants can enjoy activities such as Haeundae Blue Line Theme Park, surfing, and yachting, as well as Busan's delicious restaurants with tourist vouchers.
A special event is currently underway where the first 30 participants who apply for a workation and confirm their accommodations from January to February 15, 2025 will receive one Lotte World Busan comprehensive pass. This event was created to encourage participation by providing special benefits to workation participants and to enrich their workation experience in Busan.
Additionally, vacation participants will be provided with accommodation support of up to 60,000 won per room per night, and an additional tourism voucher worth 30,000 won per person, providing them with the opportunity to experience various tourist attractions and activities in Busan.
The Sea LAB In BUSAN workation project provides workers with a new work style and environment that stimulates creativity, and companies with a more flexible work culture. At the same time, it is expected to contribute greatly to the revitalization of the local economy and diversification of the tourism industry.
