The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it will hold a 'Comprehensive Briefing Session on the 25-Year SME Support Project' simultaneously on the 15th, hosted by 13 regional SME administrations (hereinafter referred to as regional SME administrations) across the country.
Starting with this comprehensive briefing session, each regional SME office plans to expand the number of on-site briefing sessions for each policy target to over 200 sessions (up from 170 sessions last year) by February, segmenting support projects based on the level of interest of SMEs.
It is expected that approximately 20,000 small and medium-sized enterprises will participate in the comprehensive briefing sessions held simultaneously in 13 regions across the country and in the regional on-site briefing sessions.
This briefing session aims to support small business owners and the self-employed in overcoming crises and stabilizing their operations, and to promote the global leap forward and innovative growth of SMEs, ventures, and startups by providing timely information on support programs and increasing corporate participation.
In addition, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to execute 100% of the budget for 54 projects, including the Startup Growth Technology Development Project (R&D), Startup Commercialization Support Project, and Regional Specialty Industry Promotion Project, in the first half of the year to stimulate domestic demand and facilitate a rapid recovery of the corporate economy.
The main schedule and contents of the 2025 SME Support Project Briefing Session are as follows.
◆ Simultaneous comprehensive briefing sessions held in 13 regions nationwide
The comprehensive briefing session, held on the 15th, will be held simultaneously across the country by 13 regional SME offices, and will provide detailed explanations of support programs in key areas such as finance (loans and guarantees), technology development, startups, and exports, along with a brochure on SME support programs that will be distributed to attendees.

At the briefing session, along with an explanation of the 25-year policy direction of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, on-site consultations with project managers from implementing agencies such as the Small and Medium Business Administration, the Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency, the Startup Promotion Agency, the Technology Guarantee Fund, and the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund regarding detailed support projects are also available.
Additionally, the Seoul Small and Medium Business Administration and the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Administration, which are home to a high concentration of exporting SMEs, will provide guidance on support programs for SMEs struggling with the high exchange rate, as well as explain SME response measures in response to the new U.S. administration.
In addition, a series of videos covering key business areas such as funding, exports, small and medium-sized businesses, startups, and R&D will be produced for use by businesses and broadcast on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' YouTube channel, and key information will be posted on the policy information system, the Enterprise Yard website.
◆ Explanation sessions by policy field and target
For small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners who have difficulty attending the general briefing session, on-site briefing sessions will also be held at each regional office.
This year, to boost corporate vitality, we plan to expand the number of "on-site briefing sessions" to over 200 between January and February, and to conduct them in a customized manner by sector and target group in cooperation with local governments, universities, and major associations.

Companies wishing to participate in the 'On-site Briefing Session' can contact their local SME office by phone or check the schedule on the website of each local office.
Even after the briefing session, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to provide real-time information on project announcements via email and KakaoTalk channels to encourage local businesses to participate in the support program. Furthermore, small business owners interested in participating in the program can subscribe to the KakaoTalk "Regular Customer Creation Support Center" channel to receive information on the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and local government support programs via KakaoTalk.
Minister Oh Young-joo said, “The Ministry of SMEs and Startups will play a strong supporting role so that small and medium-sized enterprises can overcome the difficult times caused by sluggish domestic demand and high exchange rates and grow,” and added, “In particular, since this briefing session is the first time to comprehensively introduce the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ 2025 support projects, we will actively ensure that information on support policies is provided in a timely manner and that it can be of practical help to participating companies.”
