Vincen Co., Ltd. announced on the 19th that it had won the bid for the 'Yeoncho Dam Eco-friendly Ship Manufacturing and Purchase' project commissioned by the Nakdong River Basin Headquarters of the Korea Water Resources Corporation and signed a contract on June 13th.
This project was promoted for the purpose of introducing an eco-friendly ship operation system to Yeoncho Dam located in Geoje-si, Gyeongnam, and improving the operational efficiency of water-based administrative equipment. Yeoncho Dam plays an important role in supplying industrial water to the shipbuilding industry-intensive area and securing living water for nearby residents, so the need for a carbon-free and pollution-free operation system that minimizes environmental impact has been raised.
Vincen will supply ships based on electric propulsion technology, and the ships will be designed as customized electric propulsion ships with functions and equipment tailored to the purpose of operating Yeoncho Dam based on the company’s own model. It will be promoted as an integrated supply method that provides everything from design and production to delivery, application of electric propulsion system, and operator training.
The vessel will be used as public equipment for dam maintenance such as water quality inspection, waterside maintenance, and environmental monitoring, rather than fixed route operation. Accordingly, a design that emphasizes precision maneuverability, low noise, and zero emission performance was applied, and a smart operation system that can integrate and manage operation status, batteries, and electrical systems in real time through the IoT-based operation system developed by Vincen will also be established.
The Vincennes side explained, “This project is a case of building eco-friendly infrastructure for environmental conservation and administrative efficiency improvement of Yeoncho Dam, and it is significant in expanding our electric boat technology to the public sector.” They also said, “Based on the Venture Nara registration model of the Public Procurement Service, we plan to continuously supply customized eco-friendly vessels to waters nationwide.”
