Ministry of SMEs and Startups holds 'Inter-Ministry Startup Overseas Expansion Launching Ceremony'.. "Support for Promising Startup Companies to Expand Overseas"

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) held the 'Inter-Ministry Startup Overseas Expansion Launching Ceremony' at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seoul on Tuesday the 24th and announced that nine ministries will collaborate to provide full-scale support for promising startups to expand overseas.

Under the slogan of 'Start Up, Together', this event was attended by approximately 200 people, including Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups Kim Sung-seop, officials from nine ministries*, Rep. Kim Dong-ah of the National Assembly's Trade, Industry, Energy, SMEs and Startups Committee, the Korea Institute for Startups & Entrepreneurship Development and program-specific organizing organizations, and participating companies in the '25 Global Acceleration Support Project', confirming the will for inter-ministerial collaboration to support startups.

At the launching ceremony, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups introduced the past startup support achievements and best practices and emphasized the importance of inter-ministerial collaboration. In addition, it introduced inter-ministerial collaborative startup support projects such as the Global Acceleration Support Project and Challenge! K-Startup, and also announced this year’s business promotion plan. Deep Sales (CEO Jinseong Kim), a company that participated in the previous year’s Global Acceleration Support Project, also attended and shared its overseas expansion achievements and experiences.

In addition, they performed a performance of planting flags containing the program details of each ministry in a box with the event slogan attached to it, conveying the message that the nine ministries are cooperating toward the single goal of global expansion of startups, and expressed their determination to become a milestone on the journey of startups that leap beyond the domestic market into the global market.

During the networking session that followed, related ministries, hosting organizations, and participating companies asked and answered questions about business items, global expansion plans, and determination.

Meanwhile, the 'Global Acceleration Support Project' is a project that supports overseas expansion and growth of promising startups by providing domestic and international acceleration programs and overseas expansion funds.

This year, nine ministries will participate and provide customized support for the global expansion of 148 promising startups based on their respective industry-specific expertise and global capabilities. In particular, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to strengthen specialized support centered on the U.S. market, which has abundant AI infrastructure and is leading the global market, to promote the growth of domestic AI startups and enhance their global competitiveness.

Kim Seong-seop, Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, said, “The nine ministries will unite to open a new chapter of cooperation to support startups. We will pool the capabilities of each ministry and organically link our resources to become a strong partner for startups.”
