
The Jeonnam Hwasun Microbiology Support Center announced on the 11th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Polytechnic University Bio Campus for the training of bio experts.
The main goal of this agreement is to cooperate in fostering talent in the bio field by sharing educational resources and infrastructure owned by both organizations and expanding opportunities for practical training and field training.
According to the agreement, both sides will cooperate in various areas, including ▲joint use of facilities and equipment ▲exchange of entrance exam and advancement information ▲sharing of expertise in training professional personnel ▲linkage and joint development of curriculum.
Korea Polytechnic University Bio Campus is the only bio-specialized educational institution in Korea, operating five major departments. It has recorded an average employment rate of 88.6% and a regular employment rate of 93.6% over the past three years, and has produced many talented individuals for major bio-industry companies, including Samsung BioLogics.
The Hwasun Microbial Demonstration Support Center is scheduled to open an education center in June 2025 as part of the 'Vaccine Industry Professional Training Project' supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, South Jeolla Province, and Hwasun County. The center is building the largest facility in the region capable of GMP practical training and aims to produce more than 900 professional personnel by 2026. It is also participating in the operation of the World Health Organization (WHO)'s 'Global Bio Hwasun Campus'.
A center official said, “Through this agreement, a foundation has been established for students to directly experience the industrial field and grow into talents who will lead the bio industry,” adding, “We will increase the practical effectiveness of education through continued cooperation.”
