Avalve , an artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart farm solution company, announced on the 11th that it was finally selected for the 'CTS (Creative Technology Solution) Seed 2 Program' hosted by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
The CTS program is a project that utilizes innovative technologies to solve official development assistance (ODA) tasks in developing countries and promote sustainable development. Avalve has previously built an AI-based ginseng sprout smart farm in Vietnam through the Seed 0 and Seed 1 stages.
In this Seed 2 phase, we plan to fully launch a business to cultivate high-quality Korean strawberries in Vietnam using AI smart farm integrated solutions. According to Avalve, strawberry cultivation in Vietnam is limited due to climate and seasonal factors, and income inequality is deepening due to the lack of access to high-tech agriculture for small and medium-sized farmers.
Avalve believes that the smart farm technology will enable strawberry harvesting up to four times a year, and plans to contribute to enhancing sustainable agricultural competitiveness through expert training and job creation for local agricultural workers.
This project aims to strengthen the technical capacity of small and medium-sized farmers in Vietnam and lay the foundation for inclusive growth in the agricultural sector, and is also carried out in a way that is in line with the achievement of Goal 2 (zero hunger and sustainable agriculture) and Goal 8 (quality jobs and economic growth) of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Avalve Bong Jin-seon, COO, said, “This project is a social contribution project that goes beyond simple technology exports and induces positive changes in the local agricultural structure,” and added, “We will continue to support agricultural self-reliance and sustainable development in developing countries through AI-based agricultural technology.”
