Data Tech company Big Value announced on the 9th that it recently attracted 5 billion won in Series B investment. With this investment, Big Value’s total accumulated investment amount reaches 12 billion won.
Shinhan Venture Investment participated as the lead investor in the Series B round, with HB Investment and Roy Investment Partners newly participating. While Series A was centered around strategic investors (SI), this round was centered around financial investors (FI), which is interpreted as reflecting the market’s confidence in Big Value’s potential for profit-based growth.
Following the participation of Shinhan Financial Group’s Shinhan Technology Investment Association as an initial investor, this time, Shinhan Venture Investment, a venture capital within the group, has stepped forward as a follow-up investor. This is evaluated as a case that demonstrates the group’s level of trust in Big Value’s technological prowess and business scalability.
Big Value plans to use this investment to focus on improving its data analysis platform. It will strengthen the ontology system that can connect industry-specific specialized data and build a customized data supply system based on a network of experts. Through this, it plans to fully expand the B2B market targeting small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners.
Park Gun-ho, a director at Shinhan Venture Investment who led this investment, said, “Big Value is providing advanced data services applicable to various industries and is establishing itself as a leading domestic company in the data infrastructure field.” He added, “As the importance of data is increasingly highlighted in the era of generative AI, Big Value’s role is expected to expand further.”
BigValue Cloud Co-CEO said, “We expect this investment to accelerate our transition to data-based AI,” and “We will continue to grow as a company recognized for both technological prowess and marketability in the data ecosystem.”
