Upbox enters Indonesia.. “Waste collection campaign with Pakuwon Group”

UpBox, a business waste collection service provider, has taken its first step toward global business expansion by officially entering Jakarta, Indonesia.

The operator RECO announced that on June 4th (local time), it held a waste collection campaign to commemorate 'Environment Day' in collaboration with the Jakarta Environment Agency, Indonesian commercial real estate company Pakuwon Group, and the Jakarta office of the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute at Gandaria City Mall in Jakarta.

This event was a campaign to raise awareness among citizens on the topic of food waste separation and proper disposal of waste. Upbox introduced its waste management solutions by installing collection bins on site, conducting collection demonstrations, and operating promotional booths.

Upbox will use this event as an opportunity to fully enter the Jakarta market. It has already started pilot operations in some of the commercial complexes operated by Pakuwon Group since February, and plans to gradually expand its business through this official launch. Pakuwon Group is a large real estate developer listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and is a top-tier company in the commercial real estate operation sector.

Upbox is contributing to improving the operational efficiency and environmental sustainability of local commercial facilities based on the data-based waste collection and transportation system accumulated domestically. In the future, it plans to expand its waste management services through collaboration with major facilities in Jakarta.

Rico CEO Kim Geun-ho said, “Upbox’s waste management system, which has been verified in Korea, is fully applicable to the global market,” and added, “Starting with our entry into Indonesia, we will position ourselves as a partner in solving environmental problems in each Asian country in the future.”
