AI-based fandom commerce platform company FANDING has been selected for the '2025 Baby Unicorn Development Project' hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. With this selection, FANDING has been recognized for its technological prowess and growth potential, laying the foundation for its growth as a potential unicorn company.
The 'Baby Unicorn Development Project' is a representative program in which the Ministry of SMEs and Startups discovers promising startups and supports their entry into the global market and scale-up. A total of 217 companies applied for this year's project, and 50 companies, including pending ones, were finally selected, recording a competition rate of approximately 4.3:1. The selected companies will be provided with customized support such as market development funds of up to 300 million won, special guarantees from the Technology Guarantee Fund (up to 5 billion won), global consulting, IR, and overseas expansion support.
Pending possesses OSMU (One Source Multi-Use) content recommendation and automation technology based on AI technology, and recently completed beta testing of technology that automatically summarizes and reprocesses live content into video, images, and text through the AI content PD function. The technology is evaluated as a solution that can increase the efficiency of content production and expand the monetization potential of creators.
After selecting this baby unicorn, Panding plans to accelerate the development of a large-scale language model (LLM) specialized for fandom business. Specifically, it plans to introduce an AI solution that supports AARRR (Acquisition-Activation-Retention-Referral-Revenue) conversion by grafting the long-term memory function based on fan behavior data and feedback-based reinforcement learning (RLHF) technology onto fandom CRM.
“Existing general commerce solutions alone cannot sufficiently respond to the fandom market that focuses on emotion and immersion,” said Pending CEO Eom Se-hyeon. “The essence of the fandom business lies in emotional connection and real-time responsiveness, which can only be achieved through AI technology. With the selection of Baby Unicorn as momentum, Pending will focus more on technology-centered fandom industry innovation.”
