The 'Jeonbuk Private Investment-led Technology Startup Support Project' is a startup support program hosted by Jeonbuk Techno Park and operated by Infobank, with the goal of revitalizing the climate tech (secondary battery, mobility, energy, etc.) industry in the Jeonbuk region and fostering promising startups.
The recruitment target is (potential) startups that are engaged in climate tech fields such as secondary batteries, mobility, and energy in Jeonbuk or have been established for less than 7 years and wish to relocate their headquarters to Jeonbuk. The number of selected companies is around 10, and the final selected companies will be supported and provided with climate tech-specific acceleration programs such as growth support, investment for TIPS recommendations, and global expansion, together with the Jeonbuk Technopark Energy Business Promotion Team and the Secondary Battery Business Team.
The selected companies will be provided with customized programs such as IR consulting, investment networking, performance indicator management, climate tech specialized training, and support for entering Southeast Asia. Companies that have been reviewed for direct investment of at least 100 million won will be recommended for the TIPS and Deep Tech TIPS programs, and if finally selected for TIPS, they will be given the opportunity to receive 500 to 800 million won in R&D and startup commercialization funding, and 1.5 to 1.8 billion won if selected for Deep Tech TIPS.
The selection process will consist of document screening and presentation screening, and the final selection results will be announced on June 30. Selected companies will receive intensive support for four months from July to October, and a demo day and investment-related events will follow after the program ends.
Partner Lee Han-soo, who is in charge of the overall business, said, “The role of climate tech startups is more important than ever in finding solutions to respond to the climate crisis and achieve sustainable growth,” and added, “We will spare no effort in providing comprehensive support so that an innovative startup ecosystem can take root in the region through connections with domestic and foreign investors and research institutes.
