Jeju Center, 28 companies selected for '2025 Preliminary Startup Package'

Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter Jeju Center, CEO Lee Byeong-seon) announced on the 27th that it has completed the selection process for the '2025 Preliminary Startup Package Project' and selected a final 28 companies (teams).

This project is a representative startup support project supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Startup Promotion Agency, and supports the successful startup of prospective startups with innovative technology startup ideas. Jeju Center, as the main organization of this project, has been through the selection process from application for recruitment to document evaluation, incubation program, and presentation evaluation from February to this month.

The 28 selected companies (teams) will receive approximately 20 million won in support to develop a business model (BM) through market research in the early stages of startups and to produce a minimum viable product (MVP). Afterwards, at the midpoint of the agreement, the progress of the first-stage business plan will be evaluated and additional support of up to 40 million won will be provided based on performance.

Jeju Center plans to begin its business program in earnest starting with an orientation in June, and plans to provide comprehensive support for each stage of startup for companies selected for the preliminary startup package in cooperation with domestic and foreign investors and partners.

In addition, we plan to hold pre-incubation and customized mentoring for general prospective entrepreneurs in June.

The Preliminary Startup Package is a business that supports the successful startup of prospective entrepreneurs with innovative technology startup ideas, and is a startup support program implemented by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The Jeju Center has discovered and supported a total of 130 prospective startup companies through the operation of the Jeju Preliminary Startup Package business for 7 years since 2019.

Last year, through the preparatory startup package, we discovered the startup in the newspace field, Specs Inc. (CEO Seong-cheol Yoon, Woong-seop Jeong). In the same year, it was selected as an investment company for the 'Jeju Early Startup Promotion Fund' jointly operated by Jeju Center and MY Social Company, and successfully attracted 300 million won in investment. Then, it was selected for Deep Tech Tips upon the recommendation of Jeju Center.
