
The Next Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the Convergence Technology Research Institute), a joint research institute of Gyeonggi Province and Seoul National University, announced on the 27th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Amazon Web Services (hereinafter referred to as AWS) Korea to jointly promote artificial intelligence (AI)-based education and corporate support projects.
This agreement aims to improve the performance of the 'Gyeonggi Province AI Capacity Building Project' and the 'AI Industry Development and Corporate Support Project' being carried out by the Yonsei AI Convergence Research Center. The two organizations plan to share resources such as technology, information, and education infrastructure to ensure smooth progress of the project, and to continuously seek ways for mutual cooperation.
The scope of cooperation includes ▲operation of the youth AI hackathon program 'Gyeonggi Warehouse' to solve social problems in Gyeonggi Province, ▲youth AI career exploration and company visitation program, ▲sharing of technical information related to AI solutions and technical support for companies, etc.
The signing ceremony was held on the 26th at the AWS Korea headquarters in Samseong-dong, Seoul, and was attended by key officials from both organizations, including President Kim Yeon-sang of the Korea Foundation for Advancement of Technology and Innovation, and AWS Korea Public Sector Representative Yoon Jeong-won.
Director Kim Yeon-sang said, “This agreement will serve as an opportunity to enhance the execution of Gyeonggi Province’s AI + X upscaling strategy through cooperation with global cloud companies,” and added, “We will continue to provide high-quality AI programs to improve the lives of residents and strengthen industrial competitiveness.”
