The Seoul branch of the Korean Red Cross and Silver Edunet introduce 'Dementia Prevention Smart Care'

The Seoul branch of the Korean Red Cross announced on the 23rd that it will introduce a digital-based 'smart cognitive care program' in cooperation with SilverEduNet as a measure to respond to the aging society.

The main goal of this program is to raise awareness of the importance of dementia prevention in the community and to have Red Cross volunteers directly provide cognitive function improvement services to vulnerable elderly people.

The training was conducted at the Central Volunteer Training Center of the Seoul Branch of the Korean Red Cross, and Silver Edunet Director Kim Se-woon served as the instructor and taught how to use dementia prevention content such as smart workbooks, life education videos, and cognitive games. 17 Red Cross volunteers participated in the training and were trained as smart cognitive care experts.

SilverEduNet donated five tablets needed to run the program on this day, expressing its will to strengthen cooperation in the future.

Volunteers who have completed the training plan to carry out dementia prevention activities targeting vulnerable groups such as the elderly living alone. They plan to explain the warning signs of dementia to the elderly who receive food and daily necessities through regular bonding activities, and if necessary, they will also play a role in connecting them with the dementia relief center of the health authorities.

Jang Young, the head of the Jung-gu branch of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association, said, “I hope that we can increase the effectiveness of dementia prevention through programs that seniors can enjoyably participate in,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to provide stable, integrated care services to the local community.”

A SilverEduNet official said, “We will continue to develop customized educational content for the elderly and, together with the Red Cross, contribute to spreading awareness of dementia prevention.”
