Naraespace, selected as one of the 1000+ ultra-gap startups in 2025 by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups

Satellite solution company Naraespace announced on the 22nd that it was selected for the '2025 Ultra-Gap Startup 1000+' hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

'Super Gap Startup 1000+' is a project to intensively foster promising startups with global technological competitiveness in 10 future strategic fields, including system semiconductors, bio and health, future mobility, eco-friendly and energy, robots, AI and big data, cybersecurity and networks, aerospace and marine, next-generation nuclear power plants, and quantum technology. A total of 182 companies were selected this year, and only 5 companies were included in the aerospace field.

Naraespace is a domestic private satellite company that carries out the entire cycle of designing, manufacturing, testing, launching, operating, and analyzing data of micro-satellites. In this selection, the advanced capabilities of its own micro-satellite system and AI-based image analysis technology utilizing StarTracker data were highlighted as key competitive advantages.

This technology enables real-time monitoring of space objects by analyzing Star Tracker images even during times when attitude control is not in operation by mounting an AI module on the satellite. This has been evaluated as increasing satellite operation efficiency and enabling technology application in various fields such as space surveillance, space traffic management, national defense, and disaster response.

With this selection, Naraespace will receive a total of KRW 1.1 billion in support, including up to KRW 600 million in commercialization funds over three years and up to KRW 500 million in research and development (R&D) funds after separate evaluation. The company plans to use this to advance satellite platform technology, improve AI image processing model performance, and expand overseas partnerships.

Park Jae-pil, CEO of Naraespace, said, “This selection is the official recognition of our capabilities in space security and strategic technology,” and added, “Based on ultra-small satellite constellation technology, we will provide solutions specialized in future strategic fields and grow into a competitive company in the global space industry.”
