Forbyfor announced on the 21st that it had developed its picture quality improvement artificial intelligence (AI) solution 'Pixel' as a dedicated plug-in tailored to the broadcast production environment and unveiled it for the first time at the '33rd International Broadcast, Media, Audio and Lighting Show (KOBA 2025)'. This exhibition will be held at COEX in Seoul from May 20th to 23rd, and Forbyfor participated jointly with digital media management platform company Gemersoft (CEO Kang Jin-wook).
Since signing a business agreement with Geminisoft in March, Pobypo has been jointly developing a plug-in for its AI-based image quality improvement technology, ‘Pixel,’ to Geminisoft’s Media Asset Management System (MAM). The plug-in unveiled at this exhibition is designed to automatically improve image quality or perform various post-processing tasks, such as format conversion, during the process of saving and loading broadcast video assets.
In particular, the Pixel plug-in can be integrated without changing the workflow of the existing MAM system, and helps perform metadata extraction functions such as recognition of people and objects in images, optical character recognition (OCR), and speech-to-text conversion (STT) more precisely.
Bae Seong-wan, head of the PobyPo solution business division, said, “We are receiving positive responses from broadcasters who have seen product demonstrations on site, and there are even broadcasters that are discussing actual introduction,” and “We expect that the possibility of Pixel’s solution entering the broadcasting market will further expand through integration with Geminisoft’s MAM system, which is used by many domestic broadcasters.”
