The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced that it will recruit SMEs to participate in the 3rd SME Export Voucher Support Project for 2025 from the 20th to the 30th.
The export voucher is a representative export support project of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups that strengthens export capabilities by allowing small and medium-sized enterprises to utilize marketing services necessary for export as much as they need.
Exporting SMEs and related industries have continuously requested the expansion of export voucher support to enable rapid response to the intensification of global protectionism, and this additional budget has been reflected at 89.8 billion won to recruit additional participating companies.
The main contents of the third export voucher support project are as follows.
First, we provide prompt support within one month of business application by applying fast track selection methods, etc.
This is a method introduced in the 'Export Direct Program' that was recruited in April. While the existing export voucher selection process took at least three months, the expedited support shortens the time from business application to support to less than one month.
Second, the requirements for SMEs to participate in the business were expanded to cover all export SMEs, and prospective export companies were also included in the support target.
The 'Export Direct Program' initially limited its support to U.S. export companies, but in response to the global spread of tariffs and the need to transform domestic companies into export companies, it was decided to provide support more broadly.
Third, we also support a ‘tariff response package’ that supports export diversification and tariff dispute resolution, including export sector marketing services.
Small and medium-sized enterprises selected in the third round of export vouchers can also receive customized customs consulting from domestic and foreign specialized corporations, just like companies selected in the first and second rounds.
Lee Soon-bae, director of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Global Growth Policy Bureau, said, “We will spare no support so that the export voucher can become a solid stepping stone on the global export front, and so that small and medium-sized enterprises can continue to find new growth engines without being swayed by the external environment.”
Meanwhile, the third export voucher support project will begin accepting applications from June of this year, with the announcement of participating companies on May 20, 2025. Small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to participate in the project can apply on the Export Voucher website .
