The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of SMEs and Startups) announced on the 12th that it will hold a 'MOS APEC One Team' review meeting to successfully host the '2025 APEC SME Ministerial Meeting.'
As Korea, this year's APEC chair, is scheduled to hold a summit in Gyeongju, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups will host the 'APEC SME Ministerial Meeting' attended by 21 APEC member countries for five days from September 1 to 5 at the Jeju ICC.
This review meeting was prepared to review not only the official schedule such as ministerial meetings and working-level meetings, but also the strategies for organizing and promoting major venture, startup, and small business events of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups related to the meeting topics, and to discuss promotional strategies to publicize the innovativeness of Korean small and medium-sized enterprises, startups, and small business owners to the world.
In particular, the 'Challenge K! Startup Opening Ceremony', 'Grand Challenge Showcase', and 'Global Venture Investment Forum' to be held on September 3rd and 4th will be held as an integrated brand event for entrepreneurship and startups called 'Global Startup Day in Jeju*', and will be planned to serve as a networking venue for various entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem stakeholders from Korea and abroad.
In addition, in this inspection meeting, it was decided to do everything possible to successfully host the meeting by checking the overall event, including ▲creating an international conference environment such as the conference hall, ▲accommodation facilities, ▲transportation measures, ▲publicity, ▲protocol, and ▲personnel support, so that we can smoothly welcome the ministers and officials from each country who will visit Jeju during the conference period.
Minister Oh Young-joo said, “We will meticulously prepare for this ministerial meeting, which is being held in Korea for the first time in 20 years, to ensure that it is not only the largest-ever event but also a substantive one. We will also actively utilize the ‘MOS APEC One Team’ system to ensure that it becomes an opportunity to promote policies for Korea’s SMEs and small and medium-sized venture companies and small business owners to the international community.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to hold an APEC One Team/One Voice planning/empathy/communication event on May 19-20 (Jeju ICC), with approximately 100 people in attendance, including Jeju Island, affiliated organizations, associations/groups, consultants, and Jeju ICC, which are part of the APEC SME Ministerial Meeting.
