Busan Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as Busan Creative Economy) announced that it is recruiting participating startups for the 'Startup Open Innovation Challenge 2025', which will lead open innovation together with Samsung Heavy Industries, until the 21st.
'Startup Open Innovation Challenge 2025' is Busan Changgyeong's representative open innovation program that discovers promising startups with the technology and services needed by large corporations, provides opportunities for collaboration and market verification with large corporations, and leads to the possibility of future business partnerships. This year marks the 6th anniversary.
A total of 1 company will be selected for this 6th term, and with Samsung Heavy Industries, we will be looking for startups with related ideas this year as well, based on our relationship with them through the 'BOUNCE 2024' open innovation meetup last year.
Any startup located nationwide and less than 7 years old that has ▲production automation equipment ▲material tracking and management system ▲production IoT, sensor data collection technology ▲other services that can be immediately applied to Samsung Heavy Industries can apply.
The selected startups will be provided with PoC (Proof of Concept) opportunities both online and offline after going through a verification process based on collaboration with Samsung Heavy Industries’ field teams. Each company will be provided with up to 10 million won in PoC support funds, as well as the opportunity to stand on the pitching stage and open innovation events for successful investment attraction in the future.
In addition to this, you will receive intensive benefits through Busan Changgyeong and Samsung Heavy Industries’ infrastructure, such as linkages and mentoring with industry and investment companies.
Startups wishing to participate can apply until May 21st, and will be selected through document evaluation and presentation evaluation. More information can be found on the center's website.
The person in charge of Busan Changgyeong Open Innovation said, “As this is the first PoC collaboration with Samsung Heavy Industries, we expect interest from various startups,” and “We hope that this project will lead to meaningful collaboration between Samsung Heavy Industries and promising startups.”
