Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency, 460 companies selected for 25-year data voucher support project

The Korea Data Industry Promotion Agency (President Yang Jae-soo, hereinafter referred to as the Promotion Agency) announced the results of the selection of companies in demand for the 2025 Data Voucher Support Project on April 30.

The data voucher support project creates a demand and supply ecosystem for data, recruits companies with data-based business innovation and demand for new product and service development, and supports all stages of data utilization in the form of vouchers.

'The 25-year data voucher support project has been reorganized into an integrated voucher support project to provide demand-tailored data, expanding the scope of service provision to support all stages of data utilization, from planning and design to collection, creation, processing, analysis, and utilization.

This year, a total of 4,699 companies applied for the data voucher support project, recording the highest competition rate ever at 10.2:1. The promotion agency selected 460 companies through a selection evaluation, and plans to support the 460 selected companies with customized data products and utilization services. By sector, manufacturing (17.6%) was the most common sector for companies selected for the data voucher support project, followed by medical/health (15.9%), culture (15.7%), communications (11.1%), education (7.4%), and public/regional (6.5%).

In particular, this year's data voucher support project will select and support 40% of youth enterprises, 40% of regional enterprises, and 5% of small and medium-sized businesses. Through this, we plan to foster youth enterprises so that they can grow into leading data-based enterprises, and by selecting non-metropolitan regional enterprises for allocation, we plan to reduce the gap in data utilization between metropolitan and regional enterprises, thereby contributing to the promotion of digital transformation of regional industries. In addition, we have newly promoted a 5% mandatory allocation selection to strengthen support for small and medium-sized businesses this year, and this is expected to help small and medium-sized businesses that are taking on the challenge of developing data-based innovative services to strengthen their data acquisition costs and utilization capabilities.

The future schedule is that after the task discussion and matching between the demand and supply companies are conducted in early May, an agreement will be signed, and the data voucher support project will begin in June.

The Promotion Agency plans to hold a Matching Day event on May 8 to support efficient task consultation and matching between demand and supply companies. Details on the Matching Day can be found in the Data Voucher Business Management System (PMS).
