BHI announced on the 2nd that it participated as a sponsor in the '2025 Korea Atomic Energy Annual Conference' and the '2025 International Nuclear Industry Exhibition', which are representative domestic nuclear energy industry events, and explored various cooperation plans with global nuclear power companies, including overseas nuclear power plant exports.
The Korea Atomic Energy Annual Conference, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, was held under the theme of ‘New Opportunities and Challenges of Nuclear Energy for Humanity’ and panel sessions were held on major global issues and the latest technology trends in the nuclear power sector, including ▲energy security ▲SMR ▲radioactive waste. This event was a great success, with over 1,000 domestic and international nuclear power industry officials in attendance.
BHI held B2B meetings with global nuclear power companies such as TerraPower, AtkinsRealis Nuclear, and Assystem, and discussed various measures such as technological cooperation in related fields.
Last October, executives from major global SMR companies such as NuScale Power, TerraPower, Seaborg, and Atkins Realis visited BHI’s headquarters in Haman, Gyeongnam. At the time, BHI introduced its large-scale nuclear power plant and SMR facility manufacturing capabilities and its quality competitiveness that meets global standards.
BHI has already secured various core technologies required for SMR production. In particular, it has built up solid references and know-how by producing numerous auxiliary equipment (BOP) in the large nuclear power plant sector. In addition, BHI is also proving its main equipment design capabilities as a source technology provider for boilers and heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) for LNG combined cycle power plants. Based on this, BHI has established an organization and system that can flexibly and extensively respond to various global SMR projects.
A BHI official said, “Participating in this Korea Atomic Energy Annual Conference was a meaningful opportunity to expand cooperation opportunities with leading overseas nuclear power companies and to reexamine our nuclear power business capabilities.” He added, “We will continue to contribute to raising the status of Korean technology in the global nuclear power market and secure continuous growth momentum in overseas nuclear power plant exports and next-generation nuclear power plants, including SMRs.”
Meanwhile, BHI has successfully supplied auxiliary equipment to the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as the Vogel and Summer Nuclear Power Plants in the United States, securing numerous overseas export references.
