Alchera to Provide Additional Bushfire Early Detection AI Solutions to Australia's Watchtower Networks

Vision AI solution company Alchera announced on the 28th that it will additionally supply its wildfire early detection AI solution 'FireScout' to Australian wildfire response specialist Watchtower Networks.

Alchera is currently operating FireScout on 11 Watchtower Networks bushfire surveillance cameras in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT), with plans to expand this to 50 cameras by the end of the year.

Fire Scout is currently operating in areas with high risk of bushfires, such as New South Wales (NSW) and the ACT. In particular, the ACT is the region where Australia's capital, Canberra, is located, and more than half of the total area is made up of national parks and nature reserves, making bushfire response very important.

According to Alchera, FireScout has been showing stable operational performance based on 99% bushfire detection accuracy and low false detection rate, and this expansion of supply is evaluated as a result of the effectiveness of the technology being proven locally. In addition, additional introduction of the solution is being discussed with Australian government agencies.

Meanwhile, Fire Scout is a system that analyzes CCTV footage using AI technology to detect smoke early, and quickly sends warnings when a forest fire occurs through real-time detection, enabling the control center and staff to respond immediately. Detected fire information is automatically transmitted to the Fire Safety Reporting Center, contributing to securing initial response time.
