
Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as Jeju Center, CEO Lee Byeong-seon) selected 31 local creator companies (teams) in Jeju that create business value by combining the region's natural and cultural characteristics with ideas, and held a successful orientation on the 23rd.
The 'Local Creator Development Project' hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, organized by the Small Business Market Promotion Agency (hereinafter referred to as the Small Business Market Promotion Agency), and operated by the Jeju Center as a dedicated organization, has finally selected 28 individual local creators and 3 collaborative teams to participate in 2025 after a public offering process lasting approximately 60 days.
Small business owners belonging to the 7 major local creator fields (▲local value ▲local food ▲local manufacturing ▲local specialty tourism ▲base brand ▲digital cultural experience ▲nature-friendly activities) were selected with a focus on ‘regionality’ and ‘growth potential’, and will receive up to 40 million won in support for individuals and up to 70 million won for collaborations.
The companies selected in 2025 are small business owners with more diverse regional ideas than ever before. In the collaboration category, ▲Gyulmedal Agricultural Corporation ▲Ganse Co., Ltd. ▲Jeju Salt were named.
Following the selection, Jeju Center held an inauguration ceremony and orientation with the newly selected local creators. The inauguration ceremony and orientation included time for ▲introduction of the local creator training business operation direction and major schedule ▲introduction of Lycon policy ▲method of executing commercialization funds ▲accounting education (budget execution standards and usable items, things to note when settling) ▲introduction of small business support projects, etc.
The Jeju Center added that through this project, it plans to advance the Jeju-based local startup ecosystem and lay the foundation for small business owners to grow beyond local creators into revitalizing local markets and becoming global Lycon companies.
