Genolution signs MOU with SB Seongbo

Green bio specialist company Jenolution (CEO Kim Ki-ok) announced on the 27th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with crop protection specialist company SB Sungbo (CEO Yoon Jeong-seon) on the 26th for joint research and cooperation on dsRNA-based crop protection agents.

This agreement is based on joint research for the development of next-generation crop protection agents using RNA interference (RNAi) technology, and was concluded in the form of a non-binding, non-exclusive agreement. The two companies plan to gradually expand the scope of their cooperation through voluntary consultations and separate contracts in the future.

Genolution will provide core technologies in the RNAi field, such as effective dsRNA selection, mass synthesis, and analysis, and SB Seongbo will jointly pursue research that increases the possibility of field application based on its business experience and research infrastructure in the agricultural field.

The two companies plan to strengthen cooperation centered on ▲joint research and commercialization of dsRNA crop protection agents ▲mutual utilization of research results ▲expanding related industrial networks.

Genolution sees this agreement as part of a flexible and scalable open innovation strategy, and places importance on establishing a commercialization foundation for verifying the practicality of the technology and securing marketability. It also said it plans to expand into an integrated cooperation model encompassing research, verification, and commercialization through future industry-academia-research cooperation.

SB Seongbo evaluated that Genolution's RNAi technology has a high possibility of developing into a practical solution in the agricultural bio field, and that the two companies will pursue the development of differentiated crop protection technology through cooperation.
